Reaching the halfway point
The swift progress is in part due to Rigby & Rigby’s sophisticated basement construction method, which enabled the concrete top slab to be lowered into place early in the project and provided a weatherproof box within which the site team could continue excavations. This approach also minimised noise from the works, ensuring a peaceful Christmas for neighbours in the exclusive west London neighbourhood.

Progress on the above-ground rebuilt extension is moving on apace too. This extension will benefit from high thermal properties in the construction of the walls, roof and flooring as well as state-of-the-art insulated and soundproofed windows and roof lights, maximising natural daylight. A ‘green’ roof seeded with plants will provide an attractive outlook for the extension and provide both added insulation and rainwater attenuation, easing the water run-off into the drainage system.
During January the building will become completely watertight, allowing internal works to progress on the high level of quality internal finishes.
