Top 3 Picks for Masterpiece London, 2019. Discover our must-see events and exhibitors at this year's Masterpiece.

This week, in the elegant surroundings of The Royal Hospital Chelsea, 150 of the world’s top galleries and specialists present the Masterpiece London Art Fair 2019.

With more than 40,000 visitors, the fair displays the best of the best of museum-quality works of art, antiques, design and jewellery items, as well as an array of events. The items being exhibited are also able to be purchased – this offers the perfect opportunity for our design team to search for one-off items for residences that we are designing for our clients.

Here are our top 3 picks at Masterpiece 2019:

‘Modernity’

Modernity is the prime gallery for vintage Scandinavian design with a focus on furniture, lighting and textiles. The gallery regularly supplies major international museums and collectors with iconic pieces. With a strong emphasis on post-war design, Modernity has since 1998 established itself as one of the leading galleries in northern Europe, with a collection of rare and high-grade design pieces by the most renowned Scandinavian designers of the 20th Century. The gallery’s large collection of furniture, ceramics, textiles and lighting includes design classics by Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto, Axel Salto and Josef Frank.

‘David Gill Gallery’

David Gill is a pioneering gallerist of 20th Century and contemporary design who has been working with leading contemporary architects, artists and designers on edition pieces and unique private commissions around the world for over 25 years. Gill broke new ground in championing the work of designers who have now become world famous, and represents Zaha Hadid, Mattia Bonetti, Gaetano Pesce, Barnaby Barford and Fredrikson Stallard.
