Rigby & Rigby Country Projects Team secures major Planning Permission for Country Park Estate in South Oxfordshire

In a significant milestone for Rigby & Rigby having achieved a resounding success in securing planning permissions for a prestigious 125-acre Estate in South Oxfordshire, including an s73 approval for key design changes to bring the proposal in line with Rigby and Rigby’s design aspirations. The property includes a boat house, car gallery and workshop for classic motor vehicles, swimming pool, roof top terrace and observatory, reflection pool and other residential outbuildings for staff, guests and sports.

This achievement marks a pivotal moment in the development of potentially one of the most exclusive residential projects in the country, promising a harmonious blend of refined sustainable living.

The Planning Permission Triumph

Rigby and Rigby’s success in obtaining planning permissions for the Country Park Estate underscores the company’s dedication to meticulous planning and adherence to the highest standards of architectural excellence. Georgian proportions and the golden ratio have been employed, to produce a technically beautiful architecture. Historical precedent has also been used to propose traditionally leaded domes.

The approval from the South Oxfordshire authorities reflects the careful consideration given to environmental impact with sustainable development practices and was approved within 10 weeks from the submission.

Key Features of the Country Park Estate

Luxurious Residence: The estate will feature a 37,000sqft bespoke residence, meticulously designed to encapsulate timeless elegance and modern convenience, spread over 4 floors. The basement that opens out on to the rear with sweeping views down to the River Thames houses a spa, pool, garage, gym, wine room, snooker room, club room, massage studio and a well. The ground floor houses the family living spaces, generous entertainment spaces, snug, boot room, library, study, and staff areas. The first floor is private with a large master suite with his and hers en-suites and dressing rooms, 7 other bedrooms and laundry facilities. The second floor is the observatory with view down to the river. It also grants access to a large roof terrace with two internal bar spaces for entertaining.

The development places a strong emphasis on preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings, with several TPO trees and manicured landscaping down to the river frontage where the boat house is located, Rigby and Rigby will collaborate with renowned landscape architects to enhance the biodiversity and create manicured gardens, serene water features, and walking trails that seamlessly integrate with the existing mature flora, boat house, greenhouses and walled gardens and various outbuildings.
