The Rigby and Rigby’s Interior Design and 3D team have been integrating the colour of the year in their schemes throughout the years and we wanted to celebrate Pantone Colour Of The Year 2023 – Viva Magenta, 18-1750. Described by Pantone as ‘An unconventional shade for an unconventional time

It’s been 24 years since Pantone’s first colour of the year and it still has an impact on various industries, influencing design choices and inspiring business choices.

At Rigby & Rigby we correlate with everything this year’s colour stands for, derived from the roots of nature and representative of the balance we have between physical and digital/virtual worlds. This Viva magenta is derived from the red family, its a very powerful and strong colour.

We at Rigby and Rigby also take inspiration from nature in our design choices, organic shapes and natural colours are things we incorporate throughout our designs. We have found more that we are seeking to find a balance between the integration of technology and keeping the natural forms a focal point in our schemes. Be that marble, natural wooden sculptural ceilings, or the view outside the properties.

We enjoy incorporating colour in our schemes in a subtle and complimentary way, the shine of a metal when the light catches it or the stitchings of our soft furnishings for example. Attention to detail to pick up on the colourful undercurrents of our schemes helps create a luxurious and cohesive result for our clients, and the underlying connection with nature allows clients to feel contentment and happiness, its a joy to see them relax into the spaces we create for them.

Pantone chose this colour to ‘encourage experimentation and self-expression without restrain’, each one of our designers at Rigby and Rigby has such a unique individual design identity and we love experimenting with pattern and colour in our studio together. Pantone also say it is ‘a boundary-less shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement’.

Since having our own 3D visualisation department, we have really embraced the digital and virtual worlds mentioned in the making of this colour, we use them as tools in our design process now and embrace the unique possibilities technology brings us.

Our 3D team created a showpiece to embrace Viva Magenta and we look forward to seeing this colour pop up throughout the year.
