The article reads:Allect Design Group, operator of high-end brands Helen Green Design, Rigby & Rigby and Lawson Robb, has been awarded the Butterfly Mark certification for its ESG approach.
A London-based firm has become the first interior design and architect studio in the world to receive the Butterfly Mark certification, awarded to luxury brands, retailers and suppliers taking “tangible action to making a positive impact on nature and society”.
Allect Design Group, the operator of Helen Green Design, Rigby & Rigby and Lawson Robb, joins the small number of high-end companies to have successfully completed the stringent accreditation process, including The Rug Company, Arena Flowers, Bamford, and Sarafumi.
To achieve the mark – awarded by Positive Luxury and billed as the only independent certification that focuses on innovation and future sustainability risks – firms have to achieve a minimum of 50% in each area of assessment: Environment, Social, and Governance. Allect scored 57% in Environment, 64% in Social and 62% in Governance, and excelled in people management, reporting, SDGS and sustainable sourcing.
Announcing the news, Allect said its 2030 goals included reducing its carbon footprint by 50%, cutting waste by 50% and increasing involvement and social impact in local communities. Conserving water and promoting environmental education and awareness are key focuses, along with employee well-being, and incorporating stakeholder engagement in decision-making processes.
The firm has also invested in carbon capture and storage tech, designed to prevent carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere as a result of fossil fuel emissions, and taken steps to prioritise responsible, local sourcing and incorporate “circularity” into its operations.|
Diana Verde Nieto, Co-Founder of Positive Luxury:“Allect Design Group’s mission centres on creativity, innovation, excellence and support with sustainability and people at the centre.
