New-build country manor marries tradition with technology

Rigby and Rigby is delighted to announce that it has been retained to design and develop a striking 14,500 square foot Georgian-style mansion, in Warwickshire, on a large estate featuring National Trust-style woodland. Planning permission for the property is expected to be determined in July.

Delivering a striking, modern take on the classic Georgian architectural style, the property strikes an elegant balance between clean and contemporary finishes with the more traditional cornicing, picture rails and architraves of the period.

The three level property, which replaces an existing bungalow on the site, will feature a gym, swimming pool and cinema, as well as a bespoke entertainment space, including a dancefloor, below ground level – with modern family living space on the two above-ground floors.

The six ensuite-bedroom home will also include a wine store and tasting room and a self-contained, two-bedroom guest apartment over the three-car garage – which is connected to the house by a contemporary, glazed lobby that is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Set back from road and screened from view behind an avenue lined with mature trees, the property will enjoy extensive, formal, landscaped grounds, offering expansive views across the Warwickshire countryside. To the rear of the property will be an informal meadow-style garden – designed with the client family in mind. Central to the project is the renewal of the existing landscaping, including the removal of unhealthy trees, the introduction of mature replacements and planting which increases the overall biodiversity of the site.
