Charlie and Lucy’s ‘Long Walk Home’ – Raising money for St Barnabas and Parley

Our 3D visualiser Lucy Marsh is taking on a huge challenge on the 22nd of September 2023. She’s walking 141 miles in 5 days. That works out to be 28.2 miles which is roughly 9 hours of walking every day!

She says the challenge came about when checking a family member’s journey from her home in Basingstoke to their home in Colsterworth and accidentally having the map on walking mode!
It said the journey would take 2.5 days to walk and seemed quite reasonable given the distance! They chatted about how it would make a good challenge for charity one day and later took on completing it together!

They’ve each chosen a charity that really means something to them, Lucy has chosen to fundraise for Parley For The Oceans. A new award-winning form of environmental organisation, they collaborate with a global network of partners and supporters, raising awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans.

They develop and implement comprehensive strategies, and work across the creative communities, brands, governments, and environmental groups to end the oceans destruction.

The oceans hold 97 percent of Earth’s water supply and comprise 99.9 percent of the biosphere — almost all the space on our home that can support life is underwater. Lucy is really passionate to get behind this charity and support all they do, if you are in a position to be able to donate then please follow the link.

Charlie has chosen to support St Barnabas Hospice; they are a small local charity to him, and they did a fantastic job supporting his Mother-in-Law and the family when she was diagnosed with cancer. She sadly passed away last year but we know she’d be so pleased to hear they are raising money in her name with this challenge. Again, if you are able to donate follow the link.
