Allect Design Group’s Remarkable Sustainability Journey and Carbon Neutrality

We are pleased to confirm that we have successfully completed our organisational Carbon Footprint Assessment and Greenhouse Gas Inventory Schedule 1 with Blue Marble for the Year March 22 – Apr 23. The focus was on evaluating our scope 1 and 2 emissions, along with selected scope 3 emissions for our professional services.

We have chosen to offset our operational emissions through a hydro-electric power plant program in Turkey, achieving carbon neutrality for the operations of our professional services for the period commencing 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2023.

This assessment has provided us with a baseline figure crucial for determining and substantiating the extent of our GHG emissions. Armed with this information, we are now poised to establish clear targets for reducing our carbon footprint moving forward.

Paul Southall from Rigby Group comments:

“In the fast-evolving world of design and architecture, Allect Design Group stands out not just for its innovative creations but also for its unwavering commitment to sustainability. In a groundbreaking achievement, the group which includes the esteemed brands, Helen Green Design, Rigby & Rigby, and Lawson Robb, clinched the prestigious Butterfly Mark certification in early 2023. This milestone made them the world’s first interior design and architecture studio to be honored with the Butterfly Mark with Positive Luxury, acknowledging their outstanding environmental, social, and governance practices.

Fast forward to 2024, and Allect Design Group continues to lead the charge in sustainable business operations. An independent audit showcases their impressive progress across key sustainability metrics. From a 57% environmental rating in 2023, the group has soared to an impressive 65%, signaling a steadfast commitment to reducing their ecological footprint. Social responsibility sees a commendable increase from 64% to 68%, reflecting their dedication to uplifting communities. Governance and innovation, the pillars of corporate responsibility, show a growth from 62% to 64%.

Delving deeper, the group’s carbon output for the year to March 31, 2023, dropped to 186 tCO2e, an environmental feat in itself. True to their ethos, Allect Design Group offset this residual carbon through certified emission credits from the Verified Carbon Standard, reinforcing their pledge to a carbon-neutral future.

But Allect Design Group’s sustainability journey doesn’t end here. Over the next year, they are poised to elevate their standards further by instating a code of conduct for all suppliers. This move ensures that every thread, every material, and every element in their supply chain aligns with the group’s unwavering values. A supplier benchmarking exercise is also underway, aiming to fortify the transparency and quality of information within their expansive supply network.

In essence, Allect Design Group isn’t just transforming spaces; they are also shaping a sustainable future. Their tireless efforts, reflected in the impressive numbers, showcase a commitment that goes beyond aesthetics—a commitment to a greener, more responsible world for all stakeholders. As they continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks, Allect Design Group stands as a beacon of sustainability in the world of design and architecture.”
